Sergi Balandin, curator of Victoria Art Gallery in Samara, Russia, and Mario Panico, PhD candidate at the University of Bologna, will present the next lecture in the AHM Lecture Series, 'Art, Travel and Participation: Transnational and Transhistorical Perspectives'.

Sergej Balandin curated exhibitions in Krasnodar, Perm, Izhevsk, Tolyatti and other Russian cities. Balandin also worked in the Samara Literary Museum, where he curated among others an exhibition about Russian futurists. At Victoria Art Gallery, Balandin curated several exhibitions of contemporary art. In his lecture, Balandin will discuss some of his projects about a network of contemporary art in Russia as well as artists and art-groups working outside Russia’s well known 'centers'.
Mario Panico is a visiting PhD fellow at AHM from the University of Bologna (Italy). In his response to Balandin, Panico will reflect on the (im)possibilities of transnational and transhistorical art works.
