Djoeke van Netten (Early Modern History, ASH) is currently working as a guest curator at the Scheepvaartmuseum on the exhibition ‘The world according to Blaeu’.

The exhibition of Joan Blaeu's unique map of the world from 1648 is open for public on April 14 until December 31 2017. Its size is impressive – over 2 by 3 metres – and at the time it displayed the most up-to-date knowledge of the world. For more information, please visit the exhibition website.

This project is the realization of the knowledge utilization part of Van Netten’s Veni project, which she was awarded in 2014. A summary of her Veni research can be found on Van Netten’s personal website.
