Katell Lavéant (PhD) is curator of printed collections at Allard Pierson, University of Amsterdam.
She specialises in book history, with a special interest for popular imprints, the materiality of rare books, and early modern book collections and libraries. Her previous research dealt with joyful culture and festivities in early modern France and Europe. She is also involved in the research network: 'Sammelband 15-16', a European network of book historians and librarians. She is a member of the Research Centre Centre Gabriel Naudé (FR).
She is currently in charge of the Surinamica project together with Isabelle Best, and of the organisation of the Summer School of Allard Pierson. She can be approached for all queries regarding the printed collections at Allard Collection, especially before 1800, and the Surinamica collection.
