The UvA and the Goethe Institute host a special evening on the occasion of the publication of "Who Will Rescue Us? The Story of the Jewish Children Who Fled to France and America During the Holocaust" (Yale University Press) by prof. Laura Hobson Faure, award-winning author and professor at the Panthéon-Sorbonne University-Paris 1.

Mobilising the case study of Kindertransporte from Central Europe to France, Laura Hobson Faure will discuss the need for a critical and historical approach to Holocaust rescue. The lecture will be followed by a roundtable on the topic also including dr. Dienke Hondius (VU), dr. Geraldien von Frijtag Drabbe Künzel (UU), dr. Laurien Vastenhout (NIOD), Miriam Keesing MA (UvA), moderated by dr. Sietske van der Veen (UvA).

The evening is generously hosted by the Goethe-Institut Niederlande represented by dr. Claudia Curio. Prof. Bart Wallet (UvA) will close the evening with a response to the book and the issues raised in the roundtable.
